Summary
Their fees are way to low for a dentist to be able to afford to accept it and then they don't pay on time. You have to call them over and over again for a payment. I do not recommend this insurance plan to anyone..

Spent five months and nine hours on the phone trying to have my dental claim paid. Seems they make up rules not to pay. They really need to be investigated for insurance fraud. .

Summary
I have Metlife dental coverage. They are refusing to pay their share of a crown I had put on one of my molars. The crown was needed because my tooth was cracked in several places. There are pictures from my dentist to prove it. Metlife claims that the crown was not covered because I didn’t show that the cracks occurred "during the act of chewing". Their benefits description states that crowns are indeed covered, and yet the same benefits description says nothing about a chewing-related caveat. It appears to be an attempt to get me to go away so they don’t have to pay their share of the cost..

Summary
I am still in shock after talking to Met Life. I also have Delta Dental. My intentions was to combine the two dental plans so that Met life would pick up what delta did not. This work great in the previous year when I had met life through NTEU . Delta dental would pay one half and met life would pay the other half. Not so the rep at met life told me of this new met life dental plan. My wife just had gum surgery for TO THE TUNE OF $1560 for half of her mouth. Delta paid 50% 3 months ago . Met Life three months later states that they will not pay anything because delta paid more than what they ( 40% since not a preferred dentist) . If this is true it is a big ripoff . .

Summary
It took them three months to deny my perfectly good claims. I trust my dentist; and he felt the procedure was necessary. Metlife said no. Need I say more? (This plan is very expensive, and now I have to pay for my dental services anyway.) I'm getting out of it at my first opportunity. .
